Hello everyone,
I've always wanted to read the whole Bible. Not because I feel like I have to, I just want to. There's a lot I don't know about Bible and as a Christian, I feel like I should know my Holy book a bit better. But instead of just reading it like a normal book, I want to go much deeper. Writing notes while reading, making questions for myself, underlining words I don't understand... I want to read His Word. There is no better book than the Bible.
For me personally, finding a good interesting book to read can be really hard. But there's a book that has never been boring to read..and that's Bible. Of course I don't understand every sentence and sometimes I go mad when I don't get the words. But when that happens, you have to pray for wisdom and understanding.
If you don't understand everything straight away, just try again. But don't give up.
Bible is a strong book with very strong words. And when you do read the verses, don't just read them without thinking anything. Read with a open mind and try to understand what it's trying to tell you.

Have you read my how to study the Bible post? I think you'll find it helpful as you read His word. I'm also trying to read through the Bible in one year (a bit behind schedule, but still!) - it's such a great undertaking, but you'll learn so much in the process. Like you said , the most important part is approaching it with an open heart and prayer. It's not up to you to figure out what the Bible is trying to say, for Jesus will open His words and wisdom to you. God bless you!
